DEC engineer Yvonne Rivera, PE, PMP, was honored recently with the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) Regional Vice President’s Medal for exemplary service to the SAME Houston-Galveston Post since 2013.
Yvonne’s leadership roles with the post have included president, Programs vice president and secretary. She also chaired the Public Agency Committee and served on the Scholarship Committee. She currently chairs the Leader Development Program. Yvonne accepted the award at the post’s 2024 installation banquet in Houston on Jan. 23.

As a project manager in DEC’s Public Works Division in Houston, Yvonne has more than 16 years of design experience in water and wastewater infrastructure.
