Rawashdeh Recognized by ASHE Houston for Achievements, Service

The American Society of Highway Engineers - Houston Section honored DEC transportation engineer Farrah Rawashdeh as its Young Engineer of the Year at its inaugural awards and scholarship gala on Jan. 12. The award recognizes an active and younger member of ASHE Houston for outstanding achievements and dedicated service in the highway industry.

Rawashdeh has been involved with ASHE Houston since 2022 and currently serves as treasurer. She graduated magna cum laude from Texas A&M University-Kingsville in 2019 with dual degrees in architectural engineering and civil engineering. She joined DEC in early 2023.

“I am truly honored and humbled to be honored by ASHE Houston,” Rawashdeh said. “This award is not just a reflection of my efforts but a testament to the amazing, dedicated professionals and mentors who have guided me and been a source of inspiration and support throughout my journey.

“I am fortunate to have met some of the brightest minds in the field through my involvement and network opportunities within industry organizations. It inspires me to continue pushing boundaries and contributing to the field of civil engineering. As young engineers, we have the responsibility to shape the future of our industry, and I am excited about the opportunities that lie ahead.”
