Preparation

These directions are for those wishing to paint or wallpaper over their FlatWire. If your concealment plan involves putting rug or carpet over your FlatWire, there is no need to follow these directions.

1) Measure around the room where you will be installing your FlatWire.

2) Mark in pencil where audio and/or video components will be installed.

3) Measure the distance between components. Add a minimum of 2 to 3 feet to this measurement to account for connections to your components (for wall mounted speakers, less than 1 foot is recommended).

4) Clean the surfaces of dirt and loose particles.

5) Double-check your measurements (you don’t want to be short).

6) Determine the location where you will place your wire anchors. Wire anchors are used to relieve tension on DeWire™ or DeCable™. At each point where your FlatWire leaves the surface to make a connection, place a wire anchor.
Though generally hidden behind speakers or components, wire anchors may be painted or wall-papered if desired.

7) Draw a line where FlatWire is to be adhered (use a pencil or a chalk line if you have these available).
