The Invisible FlatWire

Application

These directions are for those wishing to paint or wallpaper over their FlatWire. If your concealment plan involves putting rug or carpet over your FlatWire, there is no need to follow these directions.

1) For ease of installation, work in sections of 8 feet or less Note: If you need to bend the wire before you have reached the 8 feet, follow the steps for bending DeWire, below.

2) Shake spray adhesive can thoroughly.

3) Hold adhesive can 6 to 8 inches away from the surface. Note: Spray pattern should be at least 3 inches wide. Apply adhesive along the indicated area with long sweeping motions.

4) Adhere the wire to the sprayed area making sure all edges of the wire are secured tightly against the surface. Note: FWR 3.0 spray adhesive allows for 3-5 minutes of adjustment time.

5) Smooth out any major creases in the wire. DeWire™ and DeCable™ products are made from copper and ultra low oxygen and are produced to easily blend into surfaces. Some natural creases occur in the wire. Note: Major creases can be smoothed with the blunt end of a wire anchor or other non-metallic blunt object; minor creases will be hidden with concealing compound.

6) Continue applying the adhesive and the wire until all of the wire is attached firmly to the surface. Note: Leave 2-3 feet to account for connections to your components.

*Important* Before moving on to concealment, hook up your components to make sure they are working properly.

*On Bending DeWire*
a) Stop spraying adhesive approximately 3 inches before you will need to bend the wire.
b) Pre-bend the wire to line up with your desired line, then crease the edge with the blunt end of a wire anchor to make sure the bent edge is flat.
c) Before adhering the bend, spray adhesive on the inside of the bend to adhere the wire to itself and the overlapping area. Adhere the wire to the surface. Continue applying wire along the indicated area(s).
